A simple, and extremely simple, script that turns your terminal window into a nice little chat window.
What it does:
It hides all but the currently focus window from view and turns the window itself into a chat window; that is, when the window is focused it displays the currently active chat window, and when the window is not active it leaves it and puts it behind the focus window.
Usage
Put this in your rc.local.example and set the chatwindow option in that file; it could be very convenient if you have a lot of windows open in your terminal (such as some IRC servers). Also, if you don’t remember your rc.local.example, you can just copy the following to your rc.local:
# /some/path/to/local/init.sh # This file needs to be modified before using
The script takes an argument for how to hide the currently focused window. If you don’t set it, the script automatically hides the currently focused window, unless you choose a different mode (by changing the option) or it has its own focus mode (by setting the option).
Usage:
./chatwindow [OPTION]… –help Usage: chatwindow [OPTION]… Options: -h, –help Show this help and exit
