“You need to put them all together first to show in the right light. Now, take your photo with the lights off and zoom in on it’s details in the white, then click on the photo to reveal the detail.”
The process took me approximately three hours just to finish a whole suit of shirtless clothes for my friend with the big muscles.
What’s the best practice when working with photographers?
“You really need to treat them with respect. I don’t care that they’re in the industry or that you know the photographer well. It’s the first time and the first time they have used your work. So, be respectful no matter who it is. Don’t take it personally. Take them seriously.” – Paul Linder
Is there one photographer you most like?
“I love the photos I shot with James Altucher. His work speaks for itself. He is definitely a photographer to watch.” – James Altucher
Your biggest influences?
“Mostly the images of Roger Dean, the photographers of Jean-Marie Leclercq, Pierre-Henri Jussac and Jean-Martin Charlet. Of course, I also love the work of Jean-Luc Godard. We’ve got great work together now and he’s one of my favorites.” – Ryan
Where are you now?
I’m in London and working on my debut exhibition of photographs entitled ‘How To Get Women to Like You’ at The London Design Centre and a couple of my projects, one of which is titled ‘What are you thinking?’. I am getting ready to move to New York and start work on some of my new projects for a new company.”
Any final thoughts?
“I have been lucky. I’ve been very lucky and my career has blossomed, I’m happy and I have a big future. I am grateful for my work and for all the friends who have been there to support me. You never know when you may catch a good photographer in the act and it’s such a great experience to be in that moment right where you’re doing your work but it just goes out of your control and the world decides to see it. So, you just have to trust the process and work with who you are.” – Paul
