Average walking hours (hours per day)

Average hours per day for dog owners who spend more than half an hour each day walking their dog. Data is based on an average of the last 10 years.

Average walking hours are expressed as a percentage of the amount of time spent walking. For example, if a dog spends 30 minutes per day walking, then an average dog owner will spend 60% of that time walking. In the above example, 50% of the hours spent walking equals 30 minutes.

Some data sources may not reflect the exact figure for each day of the week. The more hours your dog spends in a single day, the higher the hourly rate. This means that it may be more helpful to divide the total hours in a day by three, where each hour is equivalent to two minutes in walking.

The higher your dog spends on each walk, the less your walking cost will be. On average, dog owners walk their dogs less than 1 hour per day.

Romney isn’t exaggerating — he’s simply conflating two facts.

First, according to Romney’s press secretary, it doesn’t really matter how many times Romney has said he’ll cut taxes.

“Governor Romney’s statement — that taxes would be slashed, and he had a plan to do it — has been fact checked several times,” said Sarah Sanders, spokeswoman for Mitt Romney’s campaign. “And it’s proven to be false. Taxes would decrease under President Obama’s plan. He has promised to cut taxes seven times. No one’s proposing to cut taxes for individuals at all.”

Second, despite the repeated claim from Romney’s camp that his tax plan will raise $8 trillion, Sanders added, “His plan would provide the same amount of growth as President Obama’s. Mitt Romney would increase revenues over the course of a decade.”

The two statements are in fact quite different.

Romney’s campaign, in contrast to many Republicans across the country, says it is planning to increase revenues by closing loopholes on tax evaders who avoid paying federal income taxes. (They’ve also suggested that Romney’s proposed tax cut will spur economic growth by cutting corporate taxes, but that’s not entirely accurate because Romney has consistently attacked the Obama administration’s economic policies, and
