For some time now, I’ve been asking this question of folks that read my blog in any form. I’ve got a couple of posts on that topic (not a ton of them but I’m a busy man with a family for that matter). This is one of those posts that I feel I’ve covered the best and most important lessons for Photoshop beginners. I think I’m going to leave it as the longest post I ever write.
First of all, I’m not going to start by telling you that there is a specific tutorial, or at least a specific solution to the common problem. The truth about that question is that there are no “the absolute best” tutorials for every problem and there is no single “the best” way to learn Photoshop. There isn’t one that is going to get you to where you want to be in Photoshop but every designer can learn something and each will learn something new that will help them in their design or commercial practice. I’ll try and provide some guidance that will help you in getting the best results.
I’m not going to make this post into an absolute course and I want to avoid calling every Photoshop beginner a creator. Creating your next poster is not something anyone does by “creating” a poster or even “learning how to do” it. There is no “right” way to do it. You don’t always have it all figured out, and there are plenty of people who are just barely scratching the surface. In no other art form is it possible to be completely clueless about everything around you and at your creative peak.
What I will do is try to make you think through the idea of creating a poster, then make it simpler and more accessible, then get to the point. What you will learn in this post will not be what you’ll do in a “creative” capacity but what you do to become more knowledgeable in the process of creating great art.
There are a few great tutorial websites out there that you can look at and I’m going to list some that I think are very well designed.

This is a great starting point for learning how to create graphic elements as well as a “design” resource, especially if you are not completely comfortable with Photoshop. One of the very good things about this site is you won’t have to do a whole lot of jumping around for you to get the important concepts down, as
